Automotive Lubricant Production

About

An established medium enterprise involved in automotive oil formulation and production. As a result of its steady business growth, it has exacerbated certain operational gaps and inefficiencies in the course of order fulfilment.

Critical Business Issues

The company employs a Tier 1 ERP software which does have cater for its specific production planning and raw material procurement process workflows. Furthermore, customising the existing system proved to be unfeasible, in terms of time and cost.

The key issues were identified as :-

  • Excessive and Tedious Manual Processing outside the existing system.

  • Difficulty in catering for variations in customers orders

  • Inefficiency and Sub-optimal resource planning - Production capacity, Procurement Management and Inventory Management.

Middleware Development

The BPM development team was tasked with developing a highly customised and complex middleware application (down stream integrated with the existing ERP system). This innovative system incorporated several complex algorithms that align with current human supply chain operators' planning decisions.

The result, an automated resource planning application that is smart, agile and automated eliminating all manual processing and able to make optimal production and material planning, according to the company's specific workflows.
